Alder & Wake was founded in Monaco in 1996 by James Alder and Caroline Wake — a Master Mariner and a maritime lawyer who shared a conviction that superyacht management could be done with greater rigour, greater transparency, and greater respect for the owner's investment.
In the years since, we have grown into one of the most respected independent management companies in the industry, with offices in Monaco, London, and Palma de Mallorca, and a managed fleet of 47 vessels ranging from 40 to over 100 metres.
We have never sought to be the largest. We have always sought to be the best — and our client retention record of over seven years average tenure suggests we are achieving that.
Owner privacy is paramount. We never disclose vessel identities, owner details, or operational information without explicit consent.
Every decision is documented, every expenditure justified. Our reporting gives owners complete visibility without requiring their daily involvement.
We manage vessels above 40 metres exclusively, allowing us to maintain the depth of expertise and attention that this class of asset demands.
Long-term relationships define our business. Our average client tenure exceeds seven years — a reflection of the trust owners place in our stewardship.
Our principal office and operational hub, serving the Mediterranean fleet.
